הזכויות שלי מול השוטרKnow Your Rights – Police

Stopped by police and asked to search your car? Asked for ID? Asked to "just look" at your phone? Know Your Rights – Police explains, simply, what Israeli law lets an officer do, what it does not, and what to say – politely and calmly.

11 situations:

• Traffic stop – documents, alcohol and drug tests
• Car search – when it is allowed, and "with your consent"
• Body search – when it is allowed, who searches and how
• ID request – when you must show it
• Home search – warrant, witnesses and the list of seized items
• Phone search – judge's warrant, consent and passcode
• Detention and arrest – the difference, time limits and rights
• Interrogation – the right to silence and a lawyer
• Officer in plain clothes – the duty to identify
• Filming police – you may record, without interfering
• Filing a complaint – Mahash or the police complaints unit

Each situation: in short, what the officer may and may not do, ready phrases to say (copy and speak), what not to do, and what is still unsettled in the law.

Every point has a source: a law section, a Supreme Court ruling or an official site – with a link and the date it was checked.

And more:

• Quick card: the key points in large text, screen stays on
• Private encounter log: write down what happened right away – stored only on your phone
• Useful numbers: Public Defender, Mahash, police complaints, ACRI
• Search all content, dark mode, Hebrew and English

Important: this is general information only, not legal advice. Laws change; in a real case contact a lawyer or the Public Defender. Always stay calm and never resist physically – challenge it later through legal channels. The app is not affiliated with the Israel Police or any official body.
