פוף! (Poof!) is made by Magmanet. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your data stays on your device and on the phones in your game; the app only sends anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off.
Poof! has no accounts, no advertising, no purchases and no tracking. The only thing we collect is anonymous usage statistics (see below), which you can turn off. We never see your cards, your games, your scores or the names you play under, and we never sell or share data.
Your settings (language, sounds, house rules, bot setup, pass-and-play names, your display name and emoji) and your game statistics (matches, wins, cards played and similar counts) are saved only on your device, in the app's private storage, and removed when you uninstall the app. You can reset the statistics in the app. Hands, scores and the current game exist only in memory and are gone when the game ends.
The app's Copy backup feature (Settings → Your data) copies your settings and statistics as text to your clipboard, so you can keep them somewhere you choose. The app never uploads it.
When you play with friends, the phones in the room talk to each other directly over your local Wi-Fi network or, if you turn on "Also use Bluetooth", a direct Bluetooth / Wi-Fi Direct link (Google Nearby Connections on Android). Your chosen display name and emoji, how many cards you hold, the cards you play and your score are shared with the other phones in your game. The cards in your hand are sent only to your own phone by the phone that hosts the game. Nothing goes to us or to any server.
The host phone shuffles and deals for everyone, so it holds the deck in its memory during the game. This is a game for family and friends in one room; play with people you know.
Location: Android requires location permission for Bluetooth discovery on some versions. The app asks for it only if you turn on "Also use Bluetooth", and it never reads, stores or sends your location.
Poof! needs no internet to play. It goes online only to send anonymous usage statistics (see below) and to check for updates. Once a day the app checks for a newer version by asking the Magmanet server (EU, Contabo) — the request contains only the app name, its version number and how it was installed (site/Google Play); the server counts checks per app and version in aggregate, stores no identifiers and no IP address; if the server is unavailable the app downloads the public version file from GitHub Pages instead (GitHub may see your IP address). If a newer version exists, the app shows a notice and you choose whether to open the download link. You can turn this off in Settings ("Check for updates automatically").
Poof! sends anonymous usage statistics over HTTPS (a short ping once a day; usage events a few times a day at most, batched) to Magmanet's own server, hosted in the EU (Contabo), not to Google or any other third party. It sends the app name and version, your Android version, your phone's manufacturer and model (such as Samsung SM-S911B; never the name you gave the phone), your language, how the app was installed (from Google Play, the website or elsewhere), a random install ID, and anonymous usage events (which screens and features are used and for how long). The random ID is made by the app when it is installed; it is not a device identifier. No game content, cards, scores, names or other personal content is sent.
On the server the ID is hashed and no IP address is stored. Raw data is deleted after 400 days. It is used only to count active users and improve the app, never for advertising or profiling, and it is never sold or shared.
This is on by default. You can turn it off in Settings ("Share anonymous usage statistics"). Turning it off stops sending immediately and deletes the random ID and any unsent usage events from your phone.
Poof! is a general-audience family game. Its content is suitable for all ages and children may play it with their family, but it is not directed specifically at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone: there are no accounts and no personal content leaves the phones in the room. Parents can turn off the anonymous usage statistics in Settings.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at the same address.
