Chore Stars (כוכבי מטלות / Tâches & étoiles) is made by Magmanet. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your data stays on your device.
We don't collect anything. Chore Stars has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it collects no usage statistics. We never see, sell or share your data.
The chart (the kids' first names and emoji pictures, the chores, the rewards, which chores were done and when, stars, approvals and rewards handed out) and settings (language, first day of the week) are saved only on your device, in the app's private storage. Everything is removed when you uninstall the app. A grown-up can clear all stars, or remove a child with all their data, at any time in the grown-ups area.
The app's Copy backup feature (grown-ups area → Settings → Your data) copies your data as text to your clipboard, so you can keep it somewhere you choose. Where you paste it is up to you; the app never uploads it.
Chore Stars works entirely offline. The only time it goes online is the update check. Once a day the app checks for a newer version by asking the Magmanet server (EU, Contabo) — the request contains only the app name, its version number and how it was installed (site/Google Play); the server counts checks per app and version in aggregate, stores no identifiers and no IP address; if the server is unavailable the app downloads the public version file from GitHub Pages instead (GitHub may see your IP address). The check carries no identifiers and nothing about your children or your device. If a newer version exists, the app shows a notice and a grown-up (behind the parental gate) chooses whether to open the download link. You can turn this off in the grown-ups settings ("Check for updates automatically").
Chore Stars' only permission is internet access, used just for the daily update check described above. It requests no location, camera, microphone, contacts, notifications or storage access.
Chore Stars is designed for children and their families. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no links out of the app (except the update download link, which is behind a parental gate) and no chat or social features, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children. The children's first names and pictures you type in never leave the device. The grown-ups area (kids, chores, rewards, approvals and settings) is behind a parental gate.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at the same address.
