Country City is made by Magmanet. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your data stays on your devices.
We don't collect anything. Country City has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it collects no usage statistics. We never see, sell or share your data.
Settings (language, sounds, categories, timer), the players' names for "take turns on one phone", and the letter of the day records are saved only on the device, in the app's private storage. They are removed when you uninstall the app.
The Copy backup feature (grown-ups area → Your data) copies this data as text to your clipboard, so you can keep it somewhere you choose. The app never uploads it.
When you play with friends, the phones talk to each other directly over your local Wi-Fi network (or, only if a grown-up turns it on, over Bluetooth / Wi-Fi Direct). They exchange each player's display name and emoji avatar, the game options (including any category names the host made up), the answers each player typed in the round, and the thumbs-up/down votes. This goes only to the other phones in the same game, to score the round and show the results; nothing is sent to us or to any server, and nothing is kept after the game.
The game itself never needs the internet; the word lists are inside the app. The only time the app goes online is the update check. Once a day the app asks the Magmanet server (EU, Contabo) whether a newer version exists. The request contains only the app name, its version number and how it was installed (site/Google Play). The server counts checks per app and version in aggregate and stores no identifiers and no IP address. If the server is unavailable, the app downloads the public version file from GitHub Pages instead (GitHub may see your IP address). If a newer version exists, the app shows a notice; the download link opens only after a grown-ups question. You can turn the check off in the grown-ups area.
Country City is designed for children and families. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no chat and no links out of the app (except the update download link, which is behind a grown-ups question), and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Settings are behind a grown-ups question.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at the same address.
