Privacy Policy — Flags Quiz

Last updated: 2026-10-31

Flags Quiz (חידון הדגלים / Quiz des drapeaux) is made by Magmanet. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your data stays on your device.

What we collect

We don't collect anything. Flags Quiz has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it collects no usage statistics. We never see, sell or share your data.

Where your data is stored

Progress (best stars per quiz and level, which flags were answered right, the family record for the timed game, the number of games) and settings (screen language, level, and the player names typed for pass-the-phone) are saved only on your device, in the app's private storage. Everything is removed when you uninstall the app, and the grown-ups area has a "Start over" button that erases the progress.

The app's Copy backup feature (grown-ups area → Your data) copies your data as text to your clipboard, so you can keep it somewhere you choose. Where you paste it is up to you; the app never uploads it.

Internet use

Flags Quiz works entirely offline: all flags are drawn by the app itself. The only time it goes online is the update check. Once a day the app checks for a newer version by asking the Magmanet server (EU, Contabo) — the request contains only the app name, its version number and how it was installed (site/Google Play); the server counts checks per app and version in aggregate, stores no identifiers and no IP address; if the server is unavailable the app downloads the public version file from GitHub Pages instead (GitHub may see your IP address). The check carries no identifiers and nothing about your child or your device. If a newer version exists, the app shows a notice and a grown-up (behind the parent gate) chooses whether to open the download link. You can turn this off in the grown-ups area ("Check for updates automatically").

Sharing

The grown-ups area has a "Share the app" button. It opens your device's share menu with a short text and the app's web address; you choose where (if anywhere) it goes. The app sends nothing by itself.

Permissions

Flags Quiz's only permission is internet access, used just for the daily update check described above. It requests no location, camera, microphone, contacts or storage access.

Children

Flags Quiz is designed for children and families. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no chat or social features, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Player names for pass-the-phone are optional, stay on the device and are never sent anywhere. The settings, the share button and the update link are behind a parent gate (a multiplication question for grown-ups); there are no other links out of the app.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at the same address.
