Letter Tracer (כותבים אותיות / J'écris mes lettres) is made by Magmanet. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your data stays on your device.
We don't collect anything. Letter Tracer has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it collects no usage statistics. We never see, sell or share your data.
Progress (which letters were traced, stars, stickers, traced words) and settings (language, sound, writing hand) are saved only on your device, in the app's private storage. Drawings on the free slate are not saved at all. Finger movements are checked on the device while tracing and are never stored or sent anywhere. Everything is removed when you uninstall the app.
The app's Copy backup feature (grown-ups area → Your data) copies your data as text to your clipboard, so you can keep it somewhere you choose. Where you paste it is up to you; the app never uploads it.
Letter names and words are read aloud with your device's own text-to-speech voice. The app only sends text to the voice; it never records or listens to anything.
Letter Tracer works entirely offline. The only time it goes online is the update check. Once a day the app checks for a newer version by asking the Magmanet server (EU, Contabo) — the request contains only the app name, its version number and how it was installed (site/Google Play); the server counts checks per app and version in aggregate, stores no identifiers and no IP address; if the server is unavailable the app downloads the public version file from GitHub Pages instead (GitHub may see your IP address). The check carries no identifiers and nothing about your child or your device. If a newer version exists, the app shows a notice and a grown-up (behind the parent gate) chooses whether to open the download link. You can turn this off in the grown-ups area ("Check for updates automatically").
Letter Tracer's only permission is internet access, used just for the daily update check described above. It requests no location, camera, microphone, contacts or storage access.
Letter Tracer is designed for children. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no links out of the app (except the update download link, which is behind a parent gate) and no chat or social features, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Settings, the progress report and the update link are behind a parent gate (press and hold for 3 seconds).
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at the same address.
