Renewals reminds you before passports, licences, insurance and other things expire. Everything it saves stays on your phone. It is not a government service and is not affiliated with any authority.

What the app uses, and where it stays

• What you enter (the type, the date, a name for each family member, notes, how far ahead to remind you) is stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. Only a name is saved for each person.
• Document numbers are not needed. If you turn on "Save a number on this phone", you are warned first. The number stays in a private file on this phone. It is masked on screen, and it is left out of backup files and sharing, so it does not move to a new phone. The app does not encrypt it beyond the phone's own storage protection.
• Camera / gallery. If you add a photo, you take it with the camera app or pick it with the system photo picker. A copy is saved only in the app's private folder. It is never uploaded. A photo of a document can show its number.
• Notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your phone. Their text (the type, the person's name and the date) can appear on your lock screen, depending on your phone's settings.

What leaves the phone

• Anonymous usage statistics (screens used and simple counters, with a random install ID) help us improve the app. They never include documents, dates, names, notes, numbers or photos. You can turn them off in Settings.
• The daily update check asks our website whether a newer version exists.
• Official pages. If you tap one, it opens in your browser, on that government site.
• Sharing. If you tap "Share", the item's name and date go only to the app you choose. Never a photo or a number.
• Backup file. If you create one, a zip file with your items goes to the app you choose (for example your own cloud drive or email). It is not encrypted, so keep it private. Photos are included only if you turn that on. It is not sent to us. "Copy backup" in Settings copies the same data, without photos, to your clipboard.

On Android, the phone's automatic cloud backup and device transfer are turned off for this app. On iPhone, a backup of the whole phone (iCloud or computer) can include the app's data under Apple's backup settings.

Deleting your data

Delete an item to remove it with its photo and number. Restoring a backup replaces the items on the phone. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored.

Children

The app is not directed at children. A parent may enter a child's name and passport date; that stays on the parent's phone.
