Who Am I? is made by Magmanet. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your data stays on your device.
We don't collect anything. Who Am I? has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it collects no usage statistics. We never see, sell or share your data.
The app saves only its settings on your device, in the app's private storage: the language, sound and tilt switches, the last game setup, your team names and the custom category a grown-up wrote. It is removed when you uninstall the app.
The app's Copy backup feature (grown-ups area → Your data) copies these settings as text to your clipboard, so you can keep them somewhere you choose. The app never uploads it.
"Play with several phones" connects phones in the same room over your local Wi-Fi network (or, on Android, Bluetooth / Wi-Fi Direct when that switch is turned on). No server or internet connection is used. The phones in a game exchange only:
Nothing is stored after the game, nothing is sent outside your local network, and there is no chat.
During a turn the app reads the phone's motion sensor (accelerometer) to notice when you tilt the phone down ("got it") or up ("pass"). The readings are used on the spot and never stored or sent. A grown-up can turn tilting off and use the on-screen buttons instead.
The game itself works entirely offline. The only time the app goes online is the update check. Once a day it asks the Magmanet server (EU, Contabo) whether a newer version exists — the request contains only the app name, its version number and how it was installed (site/Google Play); the server counts checks per app and version in aggregate and stores no identifiers and no IP address. If the server is unavailable the app downloads the public version file from GitHub Pages instead (GitHub may see your IP address). The check carries nothing about your child or your device. If a newer version exists, the app shows a notice; its download button is behind a parent gate. You can turn the automatic check off in the grown-ups area.
Who Am I? is designed for children and families. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts, no chat or social features and no links out of the app (except the update download link, which is behind a parent gate), and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children. The grown-ups area (settings and the custom category) is behind a parent gate.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at the same address.
