מסיבת מילים (Word Party, Fête des mots) is made by Magmanet. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your data stays on your device, and we collect nothing.
We don't collect anything. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it collects no usage statistics. We never see, sell or share your data.
The app's settings (app language, word language, sounds, bot level, grid size and time, Word Chain category), the names and emoji of the players for "one phone" games, and personal bests (solo scores and daily grid scores) are saved only on your device, in the app's private storage. Everything is removed when you uninstall the app.
The Copy backup feature (in the grown-ups area, behind the parent gate) copies these settings and scores as text to your clipboard; the app never uploads it.
The word lists (Hebrew, English and French) are part of the app and never change or download anything.
"Phones nearby" connects phones in the same room directly: over the local Wi-Fi network, or, if a grown-up turns on "Also use Bluetooth", over a direct Bluetooth / Wi-Fi Direct link (Google Nearby Connections). The phones exchange only what the game needs: the nickname and emoji avatar each player chose, the host's game options, the words each player plays (letters only, checked against the app's word lists), word counts, scores, and in Word Chain the yes/no votes on a word that isn't in the list. A word that isn't a word for a kids' game can't be sent to a vote. Nothing goes through a server, nothing reaches us, and nothing is kept after the game. There is no chat, no free text other than the nickname and the game's words, no camera and no photos.
Android asks for location permission before Bluetooth discovery on some versions. It is requested only if Bluetooth play is turned on, and the app never reads, stores or sends your location.
The games work without internet. The only time the app goes online is the update check: once a day the app asks the Magmanet server (EU, Contabo) whether a newer version exists. The request contains only the app name, its version number and how it was installed (website / Google Play); the server counts checks per app and version in aggregate and stores no identifiers and no IP address. If the server is unavailable, the app downloads the public version file from GitHub Pages instead (GitHub may see your IP address, as with any download). The download button for an update is behind the parent gate. You can turn the check off in the grown-ups area ("Check for updates automatically").
The grown-ups area (behind the parent gate) also has Share the app, which opens your phone's share sheet with a link to the app's page. Nothing is shared unless a grown-up picks an app to share it with.
מסיבת מילים is designed for children aged 8 and up and their families. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts, no chat and no links out of the app except the update download link and the share sheet, both behind a parent gate, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Nicknames and words in a nearby game are seen only by the players in the same room.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at the same address.
