Games Around the World is made by Magmanet. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your data stays on your devices.
We don't collect anything. Games Around the World has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it collects no usage statistics. We never see, sell or share your data.
Settings (language, sounds, levels), unfinished games and the number of wins against the computer are saved only on the device, in the app's private storage. They are removed when you uninstall the app.
The Copy backup feature (grown-ups area → Your data) copies this data as text to your clipboard, so you can keep it somewhere you choose. The app never uploads it.
When you play nearby, the phones talk to each other directly over your local Wi-Fi network or hotspot (or, only if a grown-up turns it on, over Bluetooth / Wi-Fi Direct). They exchange each player's short display name and emoji avatar, and the moves of the game. This goes only to the other phones in the same game; nothing is sent to us or to any server, and nothing is kept after the game. There is no chat.
The games never need the internet. The only time the app goes online is the update check. Once a day the app asks the Magmanet server (EU, Contabo) whether a newer version exists. The request contains only the app name, its version number and how it was installed (site/Google Play). The server counts checks per app and version in aggregate and stores no identifiers and no IP address. If the server is unavailable, the app downloads the public version file from GitHub Pages instead (GitHub may see your IP address). If a newer version exists, the app shows a notice; the download link opens only after a grown-ups question. You can turn the check off in the grown-ups area.
Games Around the World is designed for children and families. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no chat and no links out of the app (the store link and the update download link are behind a grown-ups question), and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Settings are behind a grown-ups question.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and publish the new version at the same address.
