Menu print too small? Glasses left at home? Can't make out the price tag or the medicine leaflet?

Open Magnifier, point your phone, and read. No sign-up and no welcome screens: it opens straight into the magnified camera view, with big buttons at the bottom, within reach of your thumb.

What's inside:

• Zoom up to 10×: a big slider, plus and minus buttons, or pinch on the screen.
• Light: one press for dark places, on phones that have one.
• Freeze: press, and the picture stops. Drag, pinch and read calmly. With shaky hands, this is the best way to read.
• Colours: normal, black on white, white on black or yellow on black, whichever is easiest on your eyes.
• Focus: tap the text you want to read.
• A bright screen that stays on while the app is open.
• It remembers your settings for next time.
• Screen reader labels, Hebrew and English.

Privacy: no account and no ads. Pictures stay on your phone. A picture is saved only when you press Save, and leaves the phone only when you press Share and choose where. The app sends anonymous usage statistics only, with no pictures, and you can turn them off in Settings.

Good to know: this is a reading aid, not a medical device. It does not treat or correct vision. A magnified label can still be misread, so confirm medicine doses with your pharmacist.

Picture quality depends on your phone's camera. High zoom is blurrier, and too close the camera can't focus: move back a little and zoom in.
